Then, in 2009, they became the most injured team in baseball since the 1953 Cincinnati Reds with 20 guys on the DL for a total of 1,442 days. Many of those injuries were career-enders and they had to go back into a rebuilding mode again. But the 2007 version was at least better than 19 teams, which kept Junior and Junior 2 in the lead, 61-54. (Junior 3 is always in the lead.) That left is up to the Giants and the Jets. The Jets weren’t up to the task, going 4-12, better than Just wo teams. The Giants didn’t look like they were going to do much when they started 0-2. But they rallied to 10-5 when they met the mighty Patriots, who were going for an undefeated season and taking no prisoners in the final game of the season. The Giants couldn’t catch the 13-3 Cowboys but had made the playoffs. There were suggestions they should just tank the Patriots game and rest their starters. They didn’t and fought their way to a stunning 28-16 third quarter lead. The Pats then took command with 22 unanswered points before the Giants made it close at the end 35-38. 10-6 was better than 21 teams. That battle gave them the confidence to beat the Buccaneers, Cowboys and Packers on the road by a combined 17 points.
