It was the second half because Emerich was playing center and Lasker right guard. The ball was on the Cuse side of the 50. For some reason, I keyed in on State's defensive tackle who was getting great push all day. Pre-snap, I kept thinking "This is going to be bad." I was expecting someone to get blown up. Instead, Emerich went left with Hickey and Trudo. Lasker must have gone straight or to the right. The DT comes in untouched and drops AAM for an 8 yard loss. Was anyone calling out coverages or taking responsibility? It didn't look like it.

Long looked great when he had time. But at was what, 50% of the time, maximum? Can't blame Long when there is zero time to operate.

Lester said after the day they have to simplify their schemes. There were plenty of plays where the replacements weren't beat, they just didn't block the right guy. Sometimes that was the guy who lined up right over them.

We should also start calling our QB "Holds the Ball Too Damn Long". Granted he's just a freshman but if he'd just get rid of the ball quicker he could have avoided 4-5 sacks. Yes he was running for his life most of the day with a patchwork OL but he compounds the problem by hanging on to the ball way too long.
