The one thing I do NOT wish to see regarding Dirty

Is him coming back and then getting declared ineligible AGAIN.

rather not have him back at all. whatever goes down, it better not be a yo yo situation.
...and Bilas agrees...said out now gives team to recover vs. a Fab that is out, comes back, and out again...team flow and players to step up doesnt work as well. Now that Grant has shown game ability (always thought he was very good) maybe Grant needs more time on court...if Cooney can connect on 3s...'Cuse will be just fine.

If Southerland comes back and just takes minutes from guys and then is ineligable again that would just kill us. If he is out we need guys to get playing time from here on out. Would rather have Grant, COleman and Cooney make mistakes now then later on in the tournament.

Agree with this completely. The difference between this situation and the Fab situation is there are guys on the roster that could potentially step up and give us something very close to what we might get from Dirty. That wasn't really the case with Fab. What he provided in terms of his defense was unique and there really wasn't anyone on the roster that could do that no matter how much time they got.

I don't know that anybody can give us the three point shooting - or at least the threat of it. Opposing coaches talked about focusing on stopping James from getting open looks. I don't think people care all that much if anyone else on this team has an open look right now.

Even if JB knew Southy would only be eligible for the next 8 games...he would play him 36 mpg in those games. Thats just the way he is built.

I agree that we don't have a forward that can give us that. I think Cooney has it in him to give us that, forced playing time may or may not get him there this year.

James' outside shooting hasn't been very consistent. He's been better than in past years, but still not where I thought he was after the first few games. Over the last 6 games that he has played in, he's only hit more than 1 three ONCE. He is just 7 of 31 over that span.

This is silliness. Cooney is shooting 28% from the 3 and our 3 pt specialist - Triche - is currently clocking in with a less than impressive 31%. If we are being honest with one another and arent worried about hurting anyone's feelings, these numbers suck cow balls. without "Dirty" we have only one decent shooter on this team who can make threes consistently at this level (not counting guys who were awesome at it in Delaware HS ball). This aint going to work against real teams.

This team needs all of its players. any thought to the contrary is silly.

Hi Tristy...and I agree...even about Triche...but are you counting CJ as the 3 baller...cause i come up short

Actually, I was referring to Grant. seems to be more comfortable out there then others, surprisingly.

I really enjoyed seeing the freshman get extended minutes. We won't win a National Championship with this team (however a sweet 16 is doable) but its going to be a heck of a lot of fun to watch these guys develop .. and yes I'm also a huge unabashed Grant fan and loving his extra PT.

When Grant hits the weights on the off season he is going to be an absolute monster next year. Just look at how much stronger CJ is now. It took him until BE play to really learn to harness it and he is going to get even better. Grant will be similar in his development.
