If the season ended today, Duke would win the ACC Coastal Division. Obviously it would be a substantial upset if they were able to beat either Florida St. or Clemson in the ACC Title game, but if they did, they would play in the Orange Bowl vs. the Big East champion.

The thought of that match-up has to have the Orange Bowl folks waking up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night.

There might be more bad news coming. If Temple can somehow get past Louisville and Cincinnati the Orange may be all that's standing between the Owls and a trip to Sun Life Stadium.

How about SU v Duke? We could still win the League, no?

They could sell out the stadium and get lucrative commercial deals if both schools sent their hoops teams.
nope, but what could happen is 'Cuse vs. FSU or Clemson...now that would be something...

Here is the big east doomsday scenario. Syracuse runs the table in league and Rutgers loses two big east games. Syracuse also loses to mizzou.

That means a 7-5 Syracuse team with zero ooc FBS wins would get a BCS bid. Reinforcing the notion that the big east blows..,and Syracuse would take that BCS credit to the A C C.

Mike Aresco will be having night sweats if we beat USf and cincy.

Which tells me don't expect it to happen.

please, the fix is NOT in.

SU may lose, but not because their pants are too short.

You mean getting jobbed in our own place again.

Duke getting to the Orange Bowl would probably be a "feel good" national story. The Orange Bowl wouldn't hate it as much as ya think as it would get people talking a bit nationally. A David in a conference filled with some Goliath's and David wins the conference.

I mean is it any worse than bringing Clemson in again after the performance they had last year in the Orange Bowl?

If its FSU vs L'ville you think FSU fans will get excited and travel for that meaningless game? I don't. Duke on the other hand who doesn't go to bowl games often (let alone an Orange Bowl caliber bowl) might travel the entire college and bring everyone from the secretary's and janitors to the professors and every student!

I think it's hilarious that the Big East still has a BCS bid but since they do I wouldn't mind playing in it even if we were 4-8.

Why not set it up that way? A double-header with SU-Duke BB and then the bowl game. That would be a very entertaining day and worthy of a premium.
