There has been a confluence of events that have led to this team just not working very well together:
- Rak did not develop as he should have... player development seems to be an overarching theme that needs to be addresses ASAP
- Brandon is proving that he is a decent second banana but a terrible star
- MCW's shot deserted him
- Cooney's shot deserted him
- BE refs decided that this year more than ever they were going to allow thug-ball to go on which has totally taken away our guards ability to drive the paint
- Every BE team realized this year that the way to beat us is to zone us and not turn the ball over on offense so we can't run
The last few years we've been lucky in that we've had Dion, Andy, Wes, AO, Rick, KJo, Scoop... all players who could actually play offense and carry a team for stretches on their backs. This team has CJ and sometimes James... that's it.
I just hope we make it to the sweet 16... once we get there anything is possible if we play a team who doesn't know how to execute against the zone and lets us getting run outs.
