I know missing ALL of spring ball isn’t ideal must if we must then let’s get some positives out of this...

Coaches can:
1) create that family atmosphere with 4 new coaches on staff. Getting families together to get to know one another
2) deep dive into last years good/bad/ugly with new coaches
3) deep dive into 335 with defensive coaches
4) recruiting! Get on the phones and chat your tail off with all recruits, their coaches and families
5) Go on vacation...lots of these coaches feel they never have time, this gets them away for a time to refresh and come back

Players can:
1) Get Healthy
2) Bulk Up
3) film study for both O/D systems
4) deep convos with coaches

not ideal to have coaching staff and more importantly S&C staff away from the players for weeks, but this is where players and coaches refresh, understand that this game is not given, and then come back making things happen.

Au contraire!

Recruiting has been suspended.

‘CROOTIN never sleeps!! :p

It prevents Rutgers new staff from getting to work with their new team...they already were probably going to suck again but this undoubtedly makes them worse to a greater extent than it does to us...making it even more likely that we get off to a fast start without even playing a home game until week 4.

Ditto BC

not sure how much bulking up is going on if kids dont stay around and its hard to do once you leave campus with so many gyms not really being fully open.

It only eliminates in person recruiting. The Dead Period still allows contact by phone, email, pms, mail...but social distancing must be maintained.

Ahh I hear what you are saying and I wonder if ALL recruiting has halted or if just in person contact.

Does anyone think that this helps with all of our junior day visitors? Would be huge to LOCK down a few of them now that they aren’t getting out this spring!

No. Some of those kids didn't have offers and were being asked to camp. And other kids are going to want to take more visits before they decide.
