just trying to b rich so I can take care of a lot of folks, I dnt care about myself, I grind for my fam so they can live life up,#dreams

he has a tough home life and a lot of siblings and no parents so I really wont fault him...good luck if its true but man one more year would be awesome

yea thats the sad thing, I dont believe he will get drafted. Hes a tough kid and I am sure if he gets an invite he will give em hell in camp. Can he be a practice squader..perhaps I mean those guys do alright for themselves. However, if he came back and had an all big east type year he could be a 2nd day pick.

I hope for his sake he finds out from good sources (not agents) where he's projected to go in the draft. I can't imagine it's too high right now, especially w/ how banged-up he was. If he comes back, maybe he improves his stock, and he comes out w/ a college degree.

Did he play after the WVU game? Seriously, I didn't notice him on the field once.

Some of these kids have an over-inflated opinion of their football skills. Kind of strange. But I do hope Thomas makes it, I always liked him.

You'd think a guy like Shamarko would need a big, productive season to climb up the draft list. How much can a guy prove simply by being an impressive specimen and a workout warrior?

I agree.

Good luck to you Sharmarko!

I hope you make it.

I always thought you gave it your all at SU and was very happy that you chose to come to Central NY.

Not sure why everyone is so critical of Shamarkos size and skill. He's big enough, strong enough, fast enough and pre injury he was pretty awesome this year.

Kind of like another Donte Greene situation... would love to have him back but I understand why he feels the need to leave if the moneys there.

Seems like Shamarko's got his mind right, and is doing it for the right reasons if he goes. I'll always be a fan

It's a tough call, especially since many of these kids come from tough beginnings but, I'm not sure who is advising all of these college players. I don't think there's as much "milk and honey" out there to go around for everyone who started on mediocre college teams. I fear that many of these players are short-sighted about how much money they can actually make bouncing around between practice squads and free agency vs staying in school for another year, working on their game and getting their degrees. And yes, that is where I think Shamarko will start out, making $10k here and there for short stints until he can prove himself. Take away taxes and agent fees and there's really not that much left.

Ask Al Davis (RIP)

the best thing he could do for his life is to get that damn SU degree.

This is correct, especially since it's only a year away.

Give yourself another year to raise your draft stock, and get a degree from a great private university. Seems like a no-brainer for a player with great potential that if drafted, would be at the bottom of the draft, but most likely will be an undrafted free agent.

Good luck to Shamarko if he does leave. He seems to have been hurt a bit, but is a physical specimen. Where does this leave Syracuse at the safety spot for next season? If Wilkes and Desir both start the safeties seem awful small.
