They just interviewed Dan Dakich on ESPN. He was the Indiana player who guarded Michael Jordan in 1984, the last time North Carolina and Indiana played in the tournament, (he held him to 13 points as Jordan fouled out and the Hoosiers upset the #1 ranked and seeded Tar Heels.
Then they joked with Dakich about the "short shorts" they wore in those days. He agreed it was awful. it was the Fab Five at Michigan in the early 90's that stared the trend toward longer shorts in basket. I;ve never liked it. I think the short short players made the players look more athletic:
