I feel like generally opponents get wide open easy shots and syracuse gets hard and difficult shots...the better the opponent, the worse this is too.

anyone else notice the same?

I think it's really hard to overstate just how bad our defense is.

This is the worst Syracuse team in my life.

it’s not like we weren’t literally blowing internet air horns all off season.

we were specifically recruiting BAD DEFENDERS. like obvious guys who were brought here to do 1 thing, score.

the plan was to just out score people. Granted, I thought best case scenario we could at least compete at some level. This scenario DID EXIST though, but if we mentioned it, we would have been called morons

I’m honestly just embarrassed for everyone involved included the fanbase. This is GTown Ewing level bad

Yeah - the commentary around the skill level of who we got was crazy. The Eddie and Jaquan stuff was insane.

Eye test, advanced stats, regular stats. It was all there. All of it.

When I saw the team in person and looked at Eddie, I was shocked that anyone could have said he was in shape. It was comical. At that point, I just figured someone from the program was just spitting out PR lines and people were eating up in the face of all evidence. Same with the JC stuff. You just have to watch him. And then the stats back it all up.

Ridiculous.

We don't run anything that resembles an offense. We have one guy in JJ who can create his own shot. While he is trying to create something we have 1 guy set a pick who is neither a threat to roll or pop. The other 3 on the court might as well put lawn chairs where they are standing and enjoy the best seats in the house if they aren’t going to move.

Remember how much Jimmy jr struggled his one year here? His stats suggest he would at worst be this teams second best player when Freeman is healthy.
see...i get it that people wanna make it about the players and the talent

but theres a lot of similarity in how this years team is playing and how last years team was as well...(and for that matter I thought JBs later years were PLAGUED by losing the shot quality battle i.e. games vs UVA or DUke were abominations)....its a pattern with this program for years now.

there's talent on the roster. there's 5stars and guys who have been to NCAAT and played well there!!

allowing teams to get open look after open look on defense and struggling to get good shots on offense is about scheme and coaching, imo. theres talent on this roster.

Can the 7-0 waste of space get better looks and still miss? You have to realize how easy these shots are he is missing. he’s a foot closer to the rim. Go and see how easy it is to put bunnies in a 9 foot hoop. It’s a joke . Well a 10 foot rim for him is like a 9 foot rim for us

i saw eddie missed a few bunnies...so waht? he was still 5-8 from the field and the team took 60 shots...so, math lesson...eddies misses vs lousivile were 5% of the teams shots.

if anything the issue is red is tryng to spread the volume to everyone like a participation award.

red coaches like he prefers that everyone gets a chance to shoot a couple rather than the team runs offense and exploits whatever mismatches it can.

according to your post the team gets great shot quality ...but if only eddie wouldnt miss easy shots everything would be fine???!?!

this biggest problem with reds offense is that he just lets the guys do randm whatever and so once a team catches on to whoever is scoring...that team takes that player out of the game...for instance, when bell has a good first half...he WILL be invisible in the 2nd...as a rule.

basically no player can be hot in both halves in this random no scheme offense...bc opposing coaches wont allow it...they will, ya know, actually scheme on defense (unlike the orange)

reds orange take what opponents allow them to have instead of imposing themselves on proceedings in any way...

its hilarious and sad but reds answer to that issue was to just load up on "scorers" this year...but he picked a bunch of duds who cannot play defense so it doesnt matter.

two things can be true at once. the team can both not get quality shots and Eddie the anvil can miss the easy ones when he gets them.

It is becoming embarrassing at this point. The only thing that might save Red is that there are 6-7 terrible teams in the ACC. Otherwise this team wouldn’t even make the ACC tournament
