I really liked:
Abe Lincoln in Illinois
Boom Town
Broadway Melody of 1940
City for Conquest
Foreign Correspondent
The Great Dictator
The Great McGinty
Northwest Passage
Pinocchio
The Philadelphia Story
Santa Fe Trail
The Sea Hawk
Virginia City

(Northwest Passage, which isn't about the Northwest Passage, would make a fine double feature with Santa Fe Trail, which is not about the Santa Fe Trail. But both are good movies.)

But the Steve goes to: The Grapes of Wrath

Hard to top Foreign Correspondent. And Chaplin's speech at the end of The Great Dictator is incredible. I don't love Rebecca, not one of Hitchcock's sharpest efforts. Philadelphia Story and Shop Around the Corner are two movies that I'll always stop and watch if I come across them. Fantastia's pretty special, too.

I appreciate Grapes of Wrath but I don't enjoy it, if that makes any sense.

Hey, how could I forget about His Girl Friday? That's one of my favorites. Ralph Bellamy's great in one of his stereotypical roles.
