If the kids knew what to do, CMU spikes the ball on 3rd down (you can see their coach signaling as such, clear as day), and then they have one play left. Instead we give them a chance to huddle with their coaches and get two plays called, but they only needed one. In hind sight, I'll admit THE time out was the right call, but for all the wrong reasons. Why doesn't the secondary know where to be pre snap? Do we ever just line up and play man to man, or is it mandatory to always give a 7 yd cushion or run some Swiss cheese zone coverage that invariably allows a first down thanks to YAC? Rant over
