The medallion was placed at Beaver Lake Nature Center last week. Since that time signage was placed in the area, prohibiting walking on the trails - allowing only snowshoeing and cross country skiing. The signage was not in place when the medallion was hidden by an SMG staffer, which was also verified by a Dermody, Burke and Brown representative, who monitors the contest. Syracuse Media Group became aware of the signs on Friday, Feb. 19. The hunt will resume with a relocated medallion for a shortened event next weekend.
