You're attempting to make this a black-and-white, either-or scenario.   KJ and FH getting more meaningful time in exchange for a reduction of, say, about 10 minutes of floor time for Cooney somehow translates into those subs playing over him?    You're asking what has FH done to deserve more time?   Well, he's shown enough flashes -- he seems to have a better court awareness and certainly better driving instincts than Cooney in very limited action.   FH also seems to have naturally good anticipation on defense with good length at the top of the zone to boot.  Getting the younger guys ready to contribute is something that needs to start before ACC play so that we might have a higher ceiling for the post-season.   And fwiw, FH only has to make 30-33% of his 3's to "shoot as well" as shaky potatoes.

But what do I know?    Yeah, there's always going to be an 8th or 9th man that everyone is clamoring should get more time.  We also know JB plays to win [I]now [/I]instead of trying to develop the team for a March run.   It doesn't mean we can't point these things out for discussion though.
