- We led 36-18 but hadn’t looked good doing it. Then we surrendered 11 straight points to a 2-12 team at home and it was 36-29. We expected to sit nervously through an SU game today but we didn’t think it would be this one. Then Trevor Cooney broke out of his second slump of the year with a three pointer, a two point jumper, a great ring-around-the-rosie bank shot and another trey. Suddenly it was 51-32 and we could relax again.
- Cooney scored 12 points and CJ Fair got 13 on 6 for 12 shooting. That was what passed for a highlight tonight.
- Our defense allowed us to win a game by 21 points when we only scored 57 ourselves. We forced 28 turnovers, out-rebounded them by 11 and wound up taking 24 more shots than they did, (which was good because we shot 37.5% to their 43.8%).
- There’s a ton of teams that would like to be where we are right now.
11-1 and nineteen to be done! (and then some!)
