Dungey played and accounted for 396 of those years and 6 touchdowns. We totally turned the tables on the BC Eagles. - Eric finally got to play in a regular season finale. He’s got one more game- a bowl somewhere against somebody. It will give us one more chance to appreciate one of the greatest quarterbacks in SU history. I remember when he first came against Rhode Island when Terrell Hunt went down. I remember thinking in the first series, “Boy, this guy’s better than Hunt! He sure was. - Fellow senior Dontae Strickland never got into the end zone but had his best career games, rushing for 129 yards on 20 carries, (He’d gained 127 in a losing effort vs. South Florida two years ago). He also picked up several blitzes, allowing Dungey time to make plays. Meanwhile our defense held Dillon to 56 yards on 12 carries, (A. J. didn’t play the second half.). Dontae’s average yards per carry each year of his career: 3.9, 3.5, 3.8 and now 4.7. - Sean Riley, a junior, caught five balls for 115 yards and a 75 yard touchdown. His senior running mate, Jamal Custis, made 3 difficult catches for 68 yards and 34 yard score. - The future reared it’s lovely head with freshmen Taj Harris catching three balls, including a 35 yarder and a beautiful fade for the final score and Sharod Johnson grabbing 3 more for 61 yards, including a 35 yarder. Sophomore Nykiem Johnson had 4 catches for 29 yards from the slot. (Although he did break off a route, hanging Dungey out to dry on an interception.) - Another freshman, Andre Cisco, intercepted a pass to tie BC’s Hamp Cheevers for the national lead with 7. - Sterling Hofrichter forced a fumble on one kick-off and recovered it- after kicking the ball to start the play.
