- We won and split the west coast tour. This was huge because Duke comes next in the schedule and we’d be going into that game with a 5 game losing streak. It could have been the beginning of a disastrous free fall. Last night we put the breaks on it and have a shot at turning things around after the Duke game. - We got a split not just in games but in points, 136-136. After the horrifying 2-25 start against Stanford, we out-scored Stanford and Cal 134-111. Against Cal, we were the ones that jumped out to a lead, (9-0) and never gave it up, extending it to 40-23 at the half. We proved we could sustain a quality performance over 70 minutes. That’s what we’ll need to end the season on a high note. - Ten players played and all ten scored. Only two of them reached double figures but four more scored between 6-8 points. Cal had two 20 point scorers and another scored 15 but they also had four guys who didn’t score at all. - We were 50% from the arc, (8 of 16), 45% inside it, and 85% from the line. Cal was 17%, 43%, and 80%. - JJ Starling again shot poorly, (6 for 18) but got us off to that good start with a couple of lay-ups and helped finish the bears off with four free throws, an assist and a block in the late going. - Lucas Taylor had his best game of the season with 19 points on 5 for 8 shooting with three threes and 6 for 6 from the line. He also had 7 rebounds. He was our best player in this game. - Eddie Lampkin didn’t have 23 rebounds but he did have 6 and 8 of them were defensive rebounds. - Elijah Moore hit a couple big threes and Chris Bell hit one, keeping hope alive for those two. - Naheem McCleod had a very productive 8 minutes with 2 points, 3 rebounds, an assist and a block. - Petar Majstorovic doesn’t get a chance to make a lot of plays but they always seem to big ones. He had 3 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists in 19 minutes. 10-12 and 11+ to go LET’S GO ORANGE!
