Bell jumped above a Golden Griffin for a follow lay-up of a missed Mintz trey with 4:31 left. - I love watching Naheem McCloud. He’s 7-4 and he knows it. There’s no wasted motion. He holds his position (which we can move if need be), keeps the ball in front of him and presents his defender with ‘El Captain’ if they are going to score. He doesn’t bring the ball down where others can get to it. And he can run the court. He’s going to get bigger and he’s going to get better. - Maliq Brown is still limited by his injury, (as Jimmy Satalin said on a hot mike), but he’s still smooth around the basket, making all three shots, getting 4 rebounds and 3 steals. But his most spectacular play, (he doesn’t normally do spectacular plays),was a 20 foot assist to Judah for a dunk midway through the first half. One of the virtues of this team is that we have so many people who can handle and pass the all. That could be an asset in many way but it should really help us hold onto a lead late in close games. 2-0 with 30+ to go… LET’S GO ORANGE! Net Points This year I’m going to make things a bit easier on myself and just list the net points in each game after the Upside. Once a month I’ll do a deeper dive into the numbers rather than doing a “Net Points, etc.” post after every game. ‘Net’ points is the positives (points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks) minus the negatives, (missed field goals and free throws, turnovers and fouls committed).
