- We didn’t get the win but we got the respect. Kirk Herbstreit was wondering what was going on.

- As far as I know, we came out of it healthy, although Dungey got a bloody nose on that pop pass that was called back. There’s no reason to think we can’t just keep going and get back to winning.

- The next five games are the key to the season. We’ve already got 4 wins in our pocket. The teams we are playing are 11-9 as of this writing and that includes 4-0 NC State. We need to get at least 2 wins out of that stretch and should get 3-4. That gets us up to 7-8 wins and a bowl game. The final two games against Notre Dame and Boston College will be tough but they will be gravy if we get the job done in these next five.

- Eric Dungey out-performed anyone Clemson could have used today. He’s an imperfect passer and occasionally calls the wrong play but he’s a multi-threat, a senior and nobody plays harder. He passed for 250 yards and ran for 2 TDs against the #3 team in the country, a team built to take on Alabama.

- Kendall Coleman, Ryan Guthrie and Kielan Whitner all had excellent games. Coleman had a couple of big sacks and the linebackers were all over the field making plays.

- Our kicking game remained first class. Andre Szmyt has now made 13 of 14 field goal attempts. Sterling Hofrichter kicked it high and far and often both. Only 3 kickoffs were returned by Clemson and for only 17.3 yards. They had been averaging 29.5. They had one punt return for -2 yards and a fumble.

- Over two years against Clemson we have scored 50 points to 51 for them. We’ve been behind for 7 minutes and 18 seconds of 120 minutes of play.

- No, it’s not 1987 all over again. But things are still turning around here and 2018 will be a year we will look back on with fondness.

4-1 with 7+ to go.

LET’S GO ORANGE!!!

More than kicking, our special teams overall is lights out. Clemson kept returning kickoffs, and we kept stopping them short of the 25.

Credit to Custis on that punt returner drop. A weaker player probably doesn't keep that ball. He was right on it, and had the strength to fight them off.

I loved Dino calling the timeouts at the end of the first half too. He was obviously trying to get them to punt so he could unleash Riley for the block. But Dabo wasn't having it.

Note that i said "Only 3 kickoffs were returned by Clemson and for only 17.3 yards. They had been averaging 29.5. They had one punt return for -2 yards and a fumble."

I use the old term "the kicking game" rather than "special teams", which I consider vague. They mean the same thing.

That's my bad, I should have kept reading. I saw kicking, saw the names of our incredible kickers, and didn't keep going.
