- Tonight was not the night. - Another “Welcome to the ACC” game. Another victory. Welcome to Syracuse! - CJ Fair was back on the beam, sinking 8 of 13 shots and scoring 19 points with 7 rebounds. His best games of the year have been two of the last three. Hopefully it will be 3 of 4 and then 4 of 5 and then… - Jerami Grant was amazing in the first half. His first shot was a crazy directly over the head hook shot that went in. Will we ever see it’s like again? (That would get him the "H".) He attacked the basket opportunistically throughout the first half. He had one great sequence that was the sort of thing you see NBA stars do. He crashed in from the side past a group of players to claw down a rebound and then emerged from the group dribbling the ball. He found no one to pass to and so just kept dribbling down past the mid-court line. He then got the ball to CJ who bobbled it into a defender. The ball bounced back to Grant who grabbed it and dribbled to the right of the basket. Confronted by a defender, he jumped and put the ball in off the glass. See you in the show! - Rakeem Christmas was very efficient while he was in there, hitting 3 of 4 shots and scoring 6 points with 4 rebounds, a block and a steal in 26 minutes. - Unlike Notre Dame, Clemson decided to guard Trevor Cooney. But Trevor got 11 points, including a dramatic three that broke the last tie at 22. Tyler Ennis screened for him and passed behind to Trevor who easily drilled about a 25 footer. Trevor also showed he’s got the quickest hands on the team by swiping three steals. He used the same skills to get a hold of a couple of loose balls. - Michael Gbinije played with a bit more aggression. He only scored a free throw but had 3 assists and 2 rebounds. He gives us a chance to get a little more size in there when we have to “go small” with Grant. - Five turnovers. Five. Clemson had 13. It was the biggest gap of any statistic in the box score, except the actual score of the game. 23-0, (10-0), with 8+ to go Let’s Go Orange!
