The Upside- Clemzin

- Did you think we were going to win at Clemson? You did? When did you decide that?


- Our defense played very well, keeping us in this one until the fourth quarter and taking the ball away four times. They just got warn down because they were on the field too long.


- Brandon Reddish is fast become one of the best cornerbacks anywhere. He seemed to be in on every play. He had one interception and nearly had a second. He wouldn’t have looked out of place playing for Clemson, which is high praise. But he’s our guy.


- Prince-Tyson Gulley is having a fine senior season. He had 100 yard games against both Villanova and Maryland and had the same numbers: 80 yards in 18 carries against both Florida State and Clemson. The rest of the team rushed for 8 yards.


- Another senior having a good year is Jarrod West, who already has more catches than he did last year (33 to 26) with four games to go.


- We’ll play four more games in this regular season and, while none of the teams will be pushovers, I don’t think any of them are as good as Notre Dame, Florida State or Clemson. We need to win 3 of those games to get to a bowl and we can do it.

I forgot to add that I had pleasant company as Accuraters I and Ii were back in town and shared some Twin Trees pizza and some good stories with me.

The defensive line played hard as did the backers and Lynch just missed tipping that on TD in the game. The DB's shut down their version of Micheal Williams and over all played a pretty good game. Had one nice kick off return. Played an incredibly hard schedule to this point and depth wise a lot of kids had some snaps to get ready for our true playoff drive to get into a bowl. This will be SU's last loss of the year.

I started believing we would beat Clemson after reading the "Why we will win ..." thread. So who's fault is that?

Thought the team played really well. Going up against a top 20 team at their place, I was afraid it was going to be a blow out. Clemson is big time football in a big time college fb environment, not the watered down fan base that we were accustomed to playing in the Big East. Clemson had bigger, stronger, faster athletes but SU played them really tough. Schaefer and the coaches have these guys playing with real intensity.
