[QUOTE="SWC75, post: 1301248, member: 289"] - We were playing a potential national champion with two guys out for the year, two more guys in the NBA who coulda/shoulda been here and two of the remaining “Big Three” having sub-par games and we lost by sing digits after leading for much of the game. The great thing about being an SU fan is that you know we can take on anybody anywhere and have a shot to win the game. - It’s fun to see players reach their potential, even if it takes a long time. Rakeem Christmas was a McDonald’s All-American and we spent three years wondering why. This year we’ve seen why. When Michael Gbinije transferred from Duke we all saw those extensive high school highlight tapes where he was doing everything you’d want form a player while the PA announcer kept shouting “MICHAEL GBINIJE”. Last year we wondered where that player was. This year he’s become one of the best players in the league, maybe the country. He carried us on his back, hitting 5 straight threes and scoring 19 of our 39 first half points. The defense adjusted but he wound up with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. This after getting 21-7-4 vs. Boston College, 23-4-3 vs. Pitt, 18-2-7 vs. Virginia Tech and 16-4-5 vs. UNC. Who’s playing better right now? - And Tyler Roberson was supposed to be a strong inside scorer and rebounder. Where was that for a year and half? He was a monster in this game with 19 points and 10 rebounds, an assists 2 blocks and 2 steals. He just needs to get some confidence in that jump shot and just go up with it without trying to figure it out first. If he does that he could be a tremendous player for us. - Kaleb Joseph could be a weapon if he would just stay inside the arc. He’s dynamite form 15 feet. That and the drives to the basket we saw against BC would make him a player the other team would have to reckon with. - Rakeem Christmas struggled to get to the basket but he did block 5 shots to Okafor’s one and dished out 5 assists to players who were open because he was being double-teamed. - Bring ‘em on! 16-9, (7-5) with 6 more LET’S GO ORANGE!!!!
