- It was another ACC rumble, with neither team dominating except for short stretches and the game being decided by who makes the plays at the end. It was 7-7 and we went off on a 13-4 run. It was 28-18 and they went on a 24-10 run. They had a 52-59 lead and we went on a 10-0 run. We led 64-61 and they went on a 4-11 run. We got it back to down 1 and the ball with 34 seconds left. We got a makeable shot, a foul wasn’t called and ball bounced away from us. We had to go for the steal or foul and they got a leak out, followed by a bad inbounds pass and it was over. You’re going to win some of those games and lose them. Yes, a more powerful team would win them more often than not. But a loss in one such game doesn’t reduce our likeliness of winning any future such games. The whole season is like that. We’ve gone 2-0, t hen fell to 2-2, then won, then lost. We won a couple to get to 5-3, then lost a couple to go to 5-5, then won a couple to got to 7-5, then lost three straight close games against good team and now have lost one. 8-9. I just want to wind up with one more win than our losses and we can still do that. - You could argue that we played better in this game than we did in Tallahassee when we beat them. The Seminoles were 4 for 30 from three-point range in that one but went 12 for 20 today, and yet it was still a close game that could have gone either way. - We out-rebounded our 5th straight opponent and have won the boards in every ACC game. Who expected that? - We had four guys in double figures. We usually win when that happens. - Buddy’s comeback continues. He hit bottom with a 5 for 20 game in the Wake Forest loss, but he’s 13 got 26 and 7 for 14 from three since then. He led with 18 points in this one he also had 3 assists, giving him 22 in his last 5 games. - Cole Swider hit 4 big threes, scored 17 points and pulled down 7 rebounds. - Jesse Edwards scored 15 points on 5 for 7 shooting, had 7 rebs and 3 blocks. - Symir Torrance had 4 points and 4 assists in 15 minutes. A three guard look with Sy, Joe and Boddy on the court, (Cole was hitting, Jimmy not so Cole with in with Jesse), looked like our most effective line-up and keyed the second half comeback. It’s another option. 8-9 with 14+ to go. LET’S GO ORANGE!
