- We got one more victory for our resume. It wasn’t against a Top ten team but ti was against a fellow bubble team who had beaten us in their place. We got them in our place and beat them worse. Unless they do spectacularly better than we do in Brooklyn this coming week, we should have the inside track on the Yellow Jackets. We’re making it harder and harder for the committee to keep us out of the tournament.

- The best thing about this team is the pure firepower. We can put five guys out there that can kill you. You have to guard each one. If you cheat on anybody, we can make you pay. Josh Pastner decided he wasn’t to make sure Gillon didn’t take over the game. He was double and tripled teamed every time they got the ball out front from where he likes to initiate his drives. He couldn’t get to the lane and couldn’t get any of his own shots off. So Battle scores 22 and white who scored 7 points in his last two games, went for 40. He and battle out-scored Tech by themselves. Late in the game, they backed off Gillon and he got to double figures as well.

- Four players have hit the 40 mark in the Boeheim Era and three of them were in the SU locker room: GMAC, White and Gillon, who both did it this year. (Was Geno Waldron, who used to do the color with Matt Park), in the house? A group picture would be nice.

- Gillon wound up with a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists. It was his third double-double of the season and he’s come close 4-5 other times.

- John missed his first free throw since the Florida State game after 48 in row. Why is this on the Upside? Because I had pictured the streak ending when we absolutely needed it to go in late in a close game. I was dreading it. Instead it comes in a 29 point blow out and didn't matter a bit.

- White has had a dozen 20 point games this year and doubled-down on it today. He really carried the team. His “wins above replacement” for today was 1. He showed versatility because Tech started out face-guarding him the way Duke and Louisville did but he started driving around his man to score. He got to the line 9 times and made 8 of them. Then he started finding those open looks and he drilled 8 of 9 from the arc, as well. If he wants to play pro ball, that’s what he’s got to do.

- Tyler Lydon continued his offensive struggles but hit a huge three when we were struggling and pulled down 13 rebounds competing with 7 foot Ben Lammers. He had 15 in Atlanta for a total of 28 rebounds. Lammers had 16 in those games.

- Dajuan Coleman managed to get in for the final three minutes. He didn’t do anything but the crowd did, giving him a standing ovation. Jim Boeheim said in the presser that doctors had told him he’d never play again. He proved them wrong.

18-13 (10-8) with + to go

LET’S GO ORANGE!
