- Well our young team got to splash around in the deep end of the pool and didn’t drown, although it looked like they might a couple of times. They should have no trouble coming back from this to try to win the upcoming games we need to win to avoid sweating out selection Sunday. Losing a relatively competitive game against Kansas, who will be even stronger when Billy Preston and Sam Cunliffe become eligible, will not be held against us.
- Tyus Battle looked fine, coming back from a bad first half to score 22 points, including a rim-rattling dunk.
- Oshae Brissett carried us early, despite a twisted ankle. He almost had a double-double with 13 points and 9 rebounds.
- Frank Howard, after a slow start, wound up with 15 points and 7 of our 9 assists. No, he didn’t fade against top completion.
- Our centers had 9 points and 11 rebounds and only 5 fouls between them. their Kansas counterparts had 8 points, 9 rebounds and 8 fouls.
- One guy beat us. Graham had 35 of their 76 points. The rest of their guys could not have done it.
