- 12-11 never looked so good. We now have four straight games against teams below us in the ACC standings, follow by four straight games against teams above us in the standings. If we can win those first four we go to 16-11 and 10-6 in the conference and if we do that those last four games won’t seem like such a windshield. Then if we win a couple of them and maybe a couple more in the ACCT….

- Yes, we were playing Louisville, not LOUISVILLE but Louisville just lost to Notre Dame by 12, Virginia by 12, Duke by 9, and North Carolina by 7 in overtime, all teams ahead of us in the standards. We just beat them by 23, leading by 17 at the half and eventually by 32.

- Our offense these last three games has been a thing of beauty. We are 67/114 inside the arc, (58.8%), 33/61, (54.1%) from outside of it and 42/54 (77.8%) from the line. We have 55 assists in the three games even though we like to drive to the basket.

- Jesse Edwards is 22 for 28 from the field in those games. That’s 79%! I thought he was going to score 30 points. Louisville collapsed in to try and stop him and Jesse looked back outside for open shooters and got 3 assists. He also had 8 rebounds 3 steals and 2 blocks. It was a 30NP game, only our third of the season, (Joe and Buddy have the other two). He has a funky shooting style when he can’t get all to the basket to dunk it. He just seems to be flipping the ball toward the basket and it somehow finds it’s way there.

- Buddy Boeheim had an average game, meaning that he scored 19 points with 5 three pointers he also had 5 assists. He’s 14 for 28 from the arc in the three games, (which actually was not as good as his teammates).

- Jimmy Boeheim scored 14 points and also had 5 assists. The game gets easier when you look for your teammates. And he was a welcome 6 for 7 from the line, so he’s coming around there.

- Joe Girard played really, really well, (as JB insisted Donna Ditota say in the press conference, as opposed to “pretty well”). He scored 15, including 3 threes, 3 rebs, 4 assists and 2 steals.

- Cole Swider continued to play well, scoring 11 including 3 for 5 from the arc.

- Frank Anselem played well off the bench, scoring 6 points with 3 rebs and a block in 13 minutes. He and Jesse had 25 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks, steals and assists between them. Remember all those years when we hoped to get 10 points and rebounds from 2-3 centers?

- Symir Torrance actually rattled home a three and scored 5 points and a rebound and steal in 9 minutes.

- Even John Bol Ajak looked good with a couple of fine assists and a couple for rebounds in 6 minutes. Actually, at this point I’d rather see him in there than Benny. I think he can play this game.

12-11 with 8+ to go.

A few games ago it was seen as an insult when JBA was put in the game before Benny.
