- There’s an Upside to being deprived of your illusions. It enables you to deal better with reality, when then comes into sharp focus. We’ve had a nice run of dreaming of GameDay and conference or national championships. It’s obvious that we weren’t good enough for that to happen. So now the focus is on what we can accomplish and can the team just show us some signs of getting better as the season progresses.

- Success and failure are Siamese twins: It was bad Syracuse and it was good Maryland. I hope the Terps go on to have a great season. Maybe they can win the Big ten and got to the Rose Bowl. Always root for your opponents when they aren’t playing you. Win or lose, you look better the better they do.

- We’ve got Clemson just where we want them to be. When we beat them two years ago we’d lost the previous year’s game 0-54 and been beaten at home that year by Middle Tennessee. They couldn’t possibly have thought we could compete with them. And, watching this, they may come in feeling the same way this year.

- Tommy DeVito and Trishton Jackson found out they were on the same team. They combined for 7 catches for 157 yards, (22.4) and 2TDs. We have our “bell cow receiver” that Dino says he likes to have.

- DeVito put up the sort of numbers we want to see from him: 28 for 39 (72%) for 330 yards, 3TDs and 1 interception. Josh Jackson was 21 for 38 for 296 and 3/1.

- I like the new uniforms.

1-1 and 10+ to be done

LET’S GO ORANGE!!!

The fact these two looked so much more in sync was a huge plus for me.

Mentioned in another thread, but a huge plus to me was that DeVito could have gone into a shell the way that game started out, but he pulled it together and made some plays and settled in.

Cautiously optimistic that we have evidence of him growing as a QB.

We have great pocket QB. All we need are good receivers and an offensive line that can provide the protection. We have 1 of 3.

God bless you, Steve, for being able to do this. I will not read your Downside, although I am sure you put a lot of thought (with a trace of tears) into it.

We are back on the roller coaster. I will be hanging on tight. It’s good to know that you are in the front car.
