- Box Scores are about offensive numbers and it’s easier to look like a superstar in an 87-91 game. Even considering that, Eddie Lampkin’s numbers are amazing. 22 points 13 rebounds (9 defensive), 6 assists. He was 8 for 12 from the field and – get this – 6 for 6 from the foul line. He had 35 net points in 34 minutes. It helped that Miami had no inside game but you can’t ignore those numbers.
- Our other star, JJ Staring, had a typical game scoring with 25 points. Atypical was filling up the rest of the box score with 5 rebounds 3 assists and 2 steals. More typical was his 8 for 21 shooting but 8 for 9 from the line.
- Chris Bell had another decent game with 14 points two rebounds and a block. Does he still have any 8 trey games within him?
- Our back-up big men performed well with 12NP in 21 minutes. Naheem had 5 in 5.

Net Points
This year I’m going to make things a bit easier on myself and just list the net points in each game after the Upside. Once a month I’ll do a deeper dive into the numbers rather than doing a “Net Points, etc.” post after every game. ‘Net’ points are the positives (points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks) minus the negatives, (missed field goals and free throws, turnovers and fouls committed).
