- This team fell behind LSU at LSU 3-21 and then out-scored the home team 23-14. Today the fell behind NC State at NC State 7-26 and outscored them 18-7 the rest of the way. Don’t give up on these guys. They’ve proven they can compete with anyone on their schedule, (well, we’ll see about Clemson). The guys obviously believe in themselves and we need to believe in them, too. We fear no one! - We are doing this with no running game but even top defenses can’t stop our passing attack. We passed for 308 yards on LSU and 385 yards on NC State. We got 24 first downs vs. LSU and 20 more today. Imagine if we had a running attack to kept he defense honest? - We also went deep more often and passed the ball over the middle to keep the defense honest. - I felt the protection held up well against a powerful defensive line. - Erv Phillips caught a lot of balls last year but he was more of a dump-off guy, (9.1 yards per catch). He’s now a major threat as a receiver. He not only set a school record with 17 catches but he got 188 yards on those catches. - Steve Ismael has re-assumed the mantle of star receiver. He had his 5th 100 yard receiving game in five weeks and it included some spectacular catches. And he’s scoring touchdowns now. He and Phillips are quite a combination. They are on pace for a combined 238 catches for 2525 yards and 10TDs. - Which puts Dungey on a pace for 324/509 (.637) for 3,444 yards 17TDs and 10 interceptions. We’ve never seen numbers like this here but we’d better get used to them. Not only will Dungey, Ismael and Phillips put up these number but the guys who Babers bad his staff recruits here because of those numbers will put them up- or even better ones – in the future. - Parris Bennett had another huge game with 13 tackles. Unfortunately, one was with a facemask that resulted in an injury to an NC State player. But I wish everybody on our side had his motor. - Zaire Franklin looked badly hurt early in the first half but came back to make 11 tackles of his own, including an amazing play where the ran down Nyheim Hines from behind. We’re goignt o miss those guys next year. - We’ll get that scalp we need yet. 2-3 with 7+ to go LET’S GO ORANGE!!!
