- Do we have a good team? Ask Duke and North Carolina. In 125 minutes of play, we’ve scored 245 points to their 259.
- Tyus Battle after going 11 for 40 and scoring 34 points in the previous three games, exploded for 29 and personally led the team in multiple second half comebacks to make the game interesting until the final minute when it might have become a rout long before that.
- We passed the ball better in this game, accumulating 17 assists, including 7 from Frank Howard and 5 from Tyus Battle.
- We again had 4 double-figure scorers and two more guys with 8 points. That’s the balance we need to be success against the tough part of the schedule and in the post-season.
- Paschall Chukwu didn’t block any shots but had two excellent steals and 4 points and 4 rebounds isn’t bad in an 18 minute stretch.
- Marek Dolezaj continued his aggressive offensive play and finished with 8 points and 4 rebounds in 26 minutes.
- We stayed in the game by hitting 14 three pointers. Hughes had 5, Battle 4, Howard 3 and Boeheim 2. The other team has to cover all of them.
