- Well, last year we lost two games in New York and people wondered if we had a good team. We wound up in the Big Dance after winning 10 ACC games.
- Quincy Guerrier was thrashing about but went at it so hard he wound up with a double-double: 13 points 10 rebounds. He’s trying hard to give the coach what he wants form a big man inside. Imagine what he could accomplish when he figures out what he is doing in there.
- Despite not seeing the ball much down the stretch tonight, Elijah Hughes got his numbers with a team-leading 19 points, 4 assists , 2 stelas and 2 blocks. He gets one of the crowd-please flying-in-out-of-nowhere blocks each game and usually a spectacular dunk on the other end to go with hit. He had 47 points in the two game, including 7 three pointers and 18 for 21 from the foul line.
- Joe Girard left his stroke back home but with a very physical guard in his face at all times he had 16 assists, 9whern were shooting poorly) and 7 turnovers, (4 in the first half vs. Okie State, 3 in the last three halves). He also stole the ball 5 times. Yes, he is a point guard.
- We had a 21-3 run against the Cowboys and 20-5 run against the Nittany Lions so, yes, we can play against these teams. But it takes a quality effort for 40 minutes to win these games. Our young guys have to learn how to do that.
