- In the second halves of the last two games we have out-gained the opposition 384-220 and out-scored them 24-6. Given the choice I’d rather be the team that had the better second half.

- I was encouraged by our aggressive, down the field offensive philosophy in this game. it sure beats the timidity we’ve seen in other games. And it should set up the short passes and runs we have been using.

- The defense is really doing a fantastic job of keeping us in these games and giving out inept offense a chance to win them. It was the second straight week they held the opposition to just a field goal in the second half. Despite the injuries, they seem to get stronger as the game progresses.

- This was the hardest hitting game I think I’ve ever seen. There were 6-8 plays that ended with the Pitt player being absolutely leveled. Kenny Pickett must have bruises from head to toe. Pitt knew they’d been in a game when this one was over.

- Maybe Clayton Welch’s way works. I remember that Donnie McPherson learned to get the ball into the air and let his receivers run under it and make plays. Sometimes a passer like DeVito throws a perfect line drive spiral and it gives the receiver no time to get there to catch. Clayton just launches it and hopes for the best. Tonight he got either catches or calls.

- That 94 yarder was the second longest pass play in SU history. The first longest was McNabb to Harrison against West Virginia in 1995 and it looked just like this one did.

3-4 and 5+ to do

LET’S GO ORANGE!!!
