- Let’s give the team credit for making a game of this, starting with a 20-4 run after the 2-25 start. Stanford then rallied to take 14 point lead. We got it back to 6 and with 7 with 1:46 left. We came up short as we have so many ties this year but it was a credit to the players and the coaching staff that we made Stanford sweat after that start.

- Eddie Lampkin was dominated by Raynaud in the stats but had a nice moment when Raynaud flopped, the refs didn’t dig it and Eddie flushed it with Raynaud looking up from the ground. (Is that his first dunk?) Eddie had a perfect even shooting: 4 for 4 from the field and 4 for from the lines. The question is: how did he get just four shots while Raynaud got 17?

- Jaquan Carlos showed the ability that impressed Red enough to bring him here. He led the comeback and the team with 16 points, on 6 for 6 shooting with two three pointers. He also had four rebounds and assist and a steal. But as Brent Axe pointed out, if Jaquan Carlos is your leading scorer, you probably lost the game.

- Petar Majstorovic made some good moves to score a couple of buckets, grab 3 rebounds, 1 assist and a steal in 17 minutes. He didn’t seem intimidated by Mr. Raynaud.

- Kyle Cuffe played just 8 minutes but scored 6 points, grabbed 2 rebounds and even blocked a shot. And he’s the guy who finally scored for us 7 minutes and 30 seconds into the game, so you could stop clapping.

9-12 and 12+ to go

LET’S GO ORANGE!

Net Points

This year I’m going to make things a bit easier on myself and just list the net points in each game after the Upside. Once a month I’ll do a deeper dive into the numbers rather than doing a “Net Points, etc.” post after every game. ‘Net’ points are the positives (points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks) minus the negatives, (missed field goals and free throws, turnovers and fouls committed).

Jaquan Carlos game: 17NP in 33 minutes season: 117NP in 551 minutes = 8.5NP/40m
Eddie Lampkin game: 17NP in 38 minutes season: 293NP in 612 minutes = 19.2NP/40m
(Say what you want about Eddie: he’s leading the team in net points and NP per 40 by large margins)
Jyare Davis game: 4NP in 23 minutes season: 186NP in 472 minutes = 15.8NP/40m
Petar Majstorovic game: 3NP in 17 minutes season: 59NP in 245 minutes = 9.6NP/40m
Lucas Taylor game: 3NP in 21 minutes season: 80NP in 457 minutes = 7.0NP/40m
Kyle Cuffe game: 2NP in 8 minutes season: 64NP in 222 minutes = 11.5NP/40m
Elijah Moore game: -1NP in 5 minutes season: 76NP in 328 minutes = 9.3NP/40m
Chris Bell game: -1NP in 20 minutes season: 111NP in 473 minutes = 9.4NP/40m
JJ Starling game: -4NP in 35 minutes season: 151NP in 482 minutes = 12.5NP/40m
(Yes, our star player was our worst player in this game.)

Naheem McCloud game: 0NP in 0 minutes season: 3NP in 12 minutes = 10.0NP/40m
Donnie Freeman game: 0NP in 0 minutes season: 201NP in 355 minutes = 22.6NP/40m
Chance Westry game: 0NP in 0 minutes season: -1NP in 10 minutes = -4.0NP/40m
