Thompson has his defensive limitations nut he had 6 rebounds and 2 blocks in those 18 minutes. He committed no fouls.  What is Roberson doing that justifies keeping Thompson on the bench?

-          Tyus Battle made some big shots, (despite missing the dunk, big-time). He had 3 of our 7 treys and scored 14 points. He’s getting better and better. He’s one of several “X” factors on the team. A freshman who seems to be figuring things out, (we’ve got two of them), can give a team a big boost in the post season. So can an inconsistent point guard becoming consistently, a guy who can shoot regaining his confidence in his shot, etc. etc.

-          I heard that Doug Gottlieb complained that a lot of our wins involve buzzer shots, suggesting that they didn’t really count – we were just lucky. Then somebody asked him who won the national championship last year. He didn’t say “North Carolina”. (And by the way, do we get credit for the ’87 title?). Maybe they will discount our close wins to some extent. But if they give us any credit for the close losses, maybe that will make up for it. Is there such a thing as “good losses”?
