- If UNC is a national championship contender, we are an NCAA tournament team. This game was on ESON and hopefully members of the committee were watching and are thinking the same thing.
- Michael Gbinije played like a senior leader, going on a run just as we were in trouble in the second half, scoring 5 points in a row and 7 of 12 as we got back into the game.
- Trevor Cooney again struggled with his jump shot but he got to the line 6 times and made all of them and they all mattered.
- Tyler Roberson broke out of his playing slump with 9 points and 11 rebounds. In his previous three games he’s had a total of 8 points and 12 rebounds. JB praised his effort but noted “they weren’t boxing out.”
- Tyler Lydon deserves special notice. He played hard for 36 minutes and was very productive with 12 points, 6 reboduns2 blocks and a steal. Now consider that, according to matt Park and Jim Satalin, who were next to the SU be4nch, said that Tyler had “an intimate relationship with the waste basket behind the bench”. The guy’s a gamer.
- We are a pretty good team who could be a lot better. If we can just get into the big dance, we could dance up a storm.
