- We won and we needed to win –badly.

- We beat a team that lost to Connecticut by 2 at Connecticut and beat them by 22 points. We had a 30 point lead at one point.

- Two guys who had faded to the point of transparency, John Gillon and Taurean Thompson, had huge games, hitting 17 of 22 shots, including 7 of 9 three pointers and scored 45 points. They really carried the team. It was a reminder that there are a lot of good players on this team. They just have to all be playing well and on both ends for the team to meet its considerable potential.

- Our bench actually out-scored our regulars 55-44.

- But Andrew White had a good game with 19 points

- And Tyler Lydon was 4 for 6 inside the arc and pulled down 6 defensive rebounds.

- Frank Howard continued his awful shooting but got to the line, making 6 for 8 free throws and dealt 11 assists vs. 2 turnovers.

- One guy got 34 points but his teammates only got 43 points. Only one of them was in double figures but Eric Fanning scored his 12 points on 3 for 9 shooting. Overall BU shot 36% from the field while we were shooting 52% and that’s what won the game.

- We had 13 steals and no less than 28 points off turnovers, compared to 4 and 7 for the visitors.

- It looked early on like it was going to be another gut-punch game. The Terriers were, like Terriers, unintimidated and dominated the early going, taking a 12-20 lead. The rest of the half was 19-33 and the second half 38-54. Good stuff.

6-3 with 22+ to go!

LET’S GO ORANGE!

Hitting 77 out of 22 shots IS very impressive!! ;)

The Dome crowd gave the guy who scored 34 against us a big round of applause when he went out. I thought that was classy of us.

Did you read the poignant article about Gillon on Syracuse.com? After the UConn loss he worked out at midnight after they returned home. His grandfather had died, and he was mourning both him and the two awful games he had had. That really put his stellar accomplishments yesterday in perspective.
