- Good things seem possible again. The NCAA tournament would require either a torrid winning streak or a win in the conference tournament but if the team realizes after this game how good they can be and continues to play like this or close to it, that could be achieved. More likely, there are ups and downs to come but the goal of a winning record seems much more likely. And if we wind up in the NIT, I’d like to win that someday. The team we saw tonight could do that. - This game proved that even if are slow afoot and unathletic, you can still play good defense if you play it with concentration and determination. Yougottawanna. - We are suddenly a second half team, scoring more points, (55) than we did in the entire game against Pittsburgh, (54). - We were down 11-16 on the boards at the half but rallied to win then in the second half19-15. Being down only by 1 for the game allowed our tremendous advent age in turnovers, (5-17) to carry the day. We had 10 steals in this game. - Everyone contributed. We finally got Buddy Boeheim and Cole Swider going at the same time and the defense couldn’t cover both of them. Together they were 20 for 32 from the field, including 8 of 14 from the arc and scored 48 points. The fact that only half of them came from the three point arc show that they can both be versatile scorers. - Joe Girard had a nice comeback game from the Pittsburgh disaster with 13 points, 4 rebounds 4 assists and only 2 turnovers. - Jesse Edwards was held back by foul trouble again but managed to score 12 points in 22 minutes. He had only 2 rebounds but 2 steals and a block. - Frank Anselem had probably his best game backing up Jesse, scoring 7 points and pulling down 6 rebounds in 17 minutes. - Symir Torrence only played 6 minutes, primarily because the starting line up was en fuego in the second half, but he moved well and played aggressively, showing no signs of his knee injury. He had 2 points and 2 rebounds. - Benny Williams got a 10 minute run after his great practice. He, indeed, played more aggressively. He didn’t produce big numbers but hit a free throw, made a steal and grabbed 3 rebounds. - Chaz Owens got in, so Billy should be happy. - We’ve got a heck of a record when our walk-ons score. 10-11 with 10+ to go. LET’S GO ORANGE!
