- Well, folks, we have finally won an ACC tournament game. Many more to come, (hopefully).

- We will have 20 wins on selection Sunday for the first time in four years.

- Marek Dolezaj suddenly began to use his (mostly of late) hidden talents, hitting jump shots, dunking, blocking shots, rebounding and passing the ball. He wound up with a career high 20 points4 rebounds, 2 blocks, a steal and assist and several loose balls he played with more confidence than we’ve seen since the pre-ACC schedule. One of the keys to a post season run is for an inconsistent contributor to finally become a consistent contributor. Is the “Big Three” about to become a Big Four?

- But the net points leader in this game was not Dolezaj. It was Paschal Chukwu with 23, (Dolezaj and Battle had 18). PC scored 14 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and blocked 3 shots. He also had 3 assists. Like Marek, he was 6 for 7 from the field.

- Frank Howard had a quieter game but 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists is a good game form a point guard.

- We gave up 14 threes to this team in the Dome. We kept on them in this game and held them to 6 of 29, (20.7%.

- The one stat that stands out from the box score is this: we were 19 for 25 from the field within the arc. That’s 76% on two point field goal attempts, a phenomenal percentage. In fact Oshae Brissett was the only member of the team that didn’t hit at least 50% from the field.

- The big lead started to melt down in the first half when Wake went to a 2-3 zone. We went into our “settle for three” mode, which can’t work with a bad three point shooting team, (we were 4 for 17 from there). But in the second half, JB made a good change: he put Frank Howard to the side and used that angle to get the ball to Marek in the high post. We took apart what is our own defense the way the good teams do it to us. That led to that high 2 point percentage. We were 10 for 12 from two point range, (83%!) in the second half.

- Compare this energetic, focused performance with the sleep-walk in Boston last week. This team seems to have decided they don’t want their season to end any time soon.

20-12 (9-10) with 2+ to go
