- I ask again:
- We’ve now had three games in a row that were decided on the final play – against an undefeated Liberty team that was ranked last year and just outside the rankings this year, a road game at Florida State, who handled North Carolina today, and now undefeated 19th ranked Wake Forest. I think we’re pretty good.

- We’re 3-3 and I’d take that record the rest of the way, since it will get us into a bowl and that’s what we need after a 1-10 season. We look more than capable of it.

- There can’t be a 1-2 rushing punch better than Sean Tucker and Garrett Schrader. Today, Tucker carried the ball 26 times for 153 yards and 2 scores and caught 2 passes for 29 yards and another score. Shrader rushed 29 times for 178 yards and 1 score while passing for another 160 yards and 2 more scores. Tucker now has run for 791 yards on 133 carries and 9 rushing TDs halfway through the season. He has two receiving TDs so he could get 1,582 yards rushing and 22 total touchdowns, both of which would be SU records. Shrader has 412 yards rushing on the year and could become a second 1,000 rusher if he can average 98 the rest of the way.

- Our offense, while lacking the long pass, is actually more versatile than the “chuck it down the sidelines and run it up the middle offense Dino had before the switch. The defense has to focus on Tucker, leaving Shrader open for his keepers. As Dino said in post-game, Shrader can’t be ‘spied’ because of Tucker. We also ran roll-outs and screen and even- Gasp! – threw over the middle. The defense didn’t know who was going to get the ball on a pass play, or on a running play.

- Courtney Jackson was catching those tough over-the-middle passes. He wound up with 5 for 64 yards.

- What really amazed me was that 94 yard drive for the tying touchdown with 2:21 left. I wondered if Dino would send in Tommy DeVito to run the two-minute offense. He stuck with Shrader, who threw an incompletion, ran for 12 yards, threw another incompletion, ran for 8 yards, hit Tucker for 4 yards, threw another incompletion, scrambled for 10 yards and got 15 more on a late hit. Then he rushed for another 9 yards and should have gotten another flag for a late hit but didn’t, Hit Jackson for 2 yards and a first down, handed off to Tucker for 6 more, then scrambled and found Tucker juked a man and out-ran everyone else for the score with 15 seconds left.

- We wound up with huge numbers: 354 yards rushing plus 160 yards through the air for 514 total yards, 33 first downs and 37 points. It wasn’t enough, but it was fun.

3-3 with 6+ to go
