- What a weekend. We played ranked teams in both football and basketball and the refs stunk in both games and we won both easily. How often does that happen?

- We played far from a perfect game but were in control throughout. There were a lot of cringe-worthy SU possessions but none of them mattered because you could tell the Aztecs we just never going to have that hot streak that would get them back in the game.

- CJ Fair not only had a great year but he looked like a player who had stepped forward to become a team leader and a lead scorer. We kept waiting for Kris Joseph to become this aggressive and play with this confidence the least two years but he never really did. In a game of brutal statistics, CJ’s 17 points and 10 rebounds were huge.

- Michael Carter Williams added 17 more and Brandon Triche 15 points. Any one of the three would have led San Diego State in scoring. In a game where jump shots we almost impossible to make, our starting backcourt scored 32 points.

- San Diego State was brutal, 16 for 45 on two pointers, 1 for 18 from three and 14 for 33 from the foul line. A lot of it was the wind and the sun but some of it was that our guys were all over them. I don’t think they see defense like that in the Mountain West.

- And they don’t see a team get 10 blocked shots on them, 5 from Rakeem Christmas.

- SU has now won 43 non-conference regular season games in a row. And it took a 70 foot shot to beat us then. We’ve run the table in this decade. And that includes games against Memphis, North Carolina, Michigan, Georgia Tech, NC State, Michigan State, Stanford, Florida and now San Diego State.

- Coach looked cool in those shades.

1-0 and here we go!

LET’S GO ORANGE!!!

I mentioned it in the chat that JB seems like the guy that has regular glasses that turned into shades, and 10 seconds later, Erin Andrews mentions JB's UV-sensitive eyewear. Probably one of the prouder moments of my life.

Worth mentioning on the upside is that we have JB and he out coached Fisher. He knew that jump shots were a waste of time. Triche pretty much gave our strategy away yesterday when talking to the press. JB also played the right players given the defense he was facing and the doubled teams on DJ. With hindsight, SDSU had no chance to win this game.
