- This was not the day. We again flirted with disaster but would not put on the ring.

- After getting killed on the boards by Pittsburgh, 24-35) and having to overcome that, we killed Miami on the boards, (39-24) and it won the game for us. And everybody contributed. The centers had 9 boards, Grant 8, Fair 7, Ennis 5. JB talked about rebounding all week and his players were listening.

- Scoring was equally balanced. We had four guys in double figures to 2 for the Canes.

- Free throw shooting was an issue in the first half, (6 for 13) but a strength in the second, (11 for 14, including the last 8 in a row.

- Miami burned us form outside (9 for 17) but they got little inside, (9 for 29). And they only scored 5 points in those last 6:06, when the game was decided. With rare exceptions, (Creighton-Villanova), teams aren’t going to beat you with three pointers, even when they are hot.

- We had 5 first half turnovers. None- Zero- in the second half.

- Jerami Grant must have a permanent place in ESPN’s top ten plays with those form the cloud follow shot dunks.

- Fair and Cooney sometimes have trouble getting shots but they make big ones. Fair’s smooth jumper with 4:09 left was his only basket of the second half but it gave us a 4 point lead. Then Cooney’s three with two guys in his face gave us a 6 point lead and enabled us to determine the strategy down the stretch.

- Baye Keita had an “up” game with 6 rebounds in 19 minutes which allowed him to put in two big follow shots.

19-0 with 12+ to go
