First, there was no View from 331 for Wake as I was unable to attend due to both of my kids sports schedules. Damn kids.

Due to weather conditions, the Cuse on the Quad was cancelled, and therefore so was the Covid pre-screen tent normally there. We were instructed to go straight to the doors, and all worked very smoothly. I think everyone is getting the hang of it.

At 6:39pm, I was super concerned about the crowd size. Thankfully it improved. But to the students: NICE JOB! Student section filled from floor to ceiling. And plenty loud. Well done guys.

This week I decided my meal would be the new Cheeseburger with Fries. I have to say, pretty darn good. Especially if you compare it to the burger that used to be available in the dome, which was none. At a point later in the game, we tried the new and improved soft pretzels. They were also fantastic in relation to the old ones, which I'm pretty sure were made out of old recycled U-HAUL boxes.

Our old friend the flip-flop guy, even in mid-October, was doing some serious flipping and flopping. Do realize how loud a flip-flop needs to be to be audible over the sounds of a college football game?

Week 7, and I still have no idea what is being said in the intro video. The speakers I actually feel took a turn for the worse this week. And videos are definitely the biggest issue. I blame the makeup of the new roof as being the biggest culprit. As said by others, that place was really loud even with a less than capacity crowd. And for the first time I can ever remember, I'm realizing that I'm having a hard time hearing the SUMB as anything but a muddled mess. If I didn't already know all the songs, I would have a hard time making them out. I think it is clearly the acoustics of the new roof.

When you are home watching the games on TV, commercial breaks go by quickly, as you race to grab a bite from the kitchen, or use the potty. Why do they seem so painfully long when you are there? It's a crazy difference.

PSA: To all Syracuse University parents...It's 7:00pm on Friday night. Do you know where your daughter's clothes are?

Right at the point where I thought I would sit up screaming as I awoke from a nightmare, I realized I was indeed awake and there WERE CHEERLEADERS ON THE FIELD WITH A MICROPHONE!!! I will continue to harp on this every week, so be prepared.

A very nice tribute to Floyd at the half. Any chance that someone has a transcript of what was said? Same goes for the tribute videos that would occasionally pop up, like with JB or Herm Frazier. Have no idea what was said, and it got worse when the family took the mic. Very cool video (visually) regardless.

My final thought. Personally, in recent years, I feel feminism as a whole has really turned into an ugly thing, and I would not put myself in that category. I am all for the equality thing regarding male/female, so I am baffled every week when they highlight the "50 years of women's sports at SU" thing. I'm shocked at 51, that when I was born that they didn't exist. Unbelievable. I'm glad they do.

Until next time,

They really need to put subtitles on the board. I had no idea what JB or Herm said about Floyd. I had no trouble with the halftime tribute though. The marching band? Couldn't hear anything but noise in 327.
The noise is great for in-game, but for any videos, forget about it.

Yes, it is really bad. Add subtitles. Really wish I knew what JB said.

They do use close captioning for at least some announcements made using the sound system. I know part of the ribbon board in the northeast corner is used for this purpose. Guessing they do the same thing somewhere on the north ribbon board…..

For them not to have the audio/sound down at this point is quite disappointing. You would think all of last year would have provided ample time to experiment and get it right. Maybe they spent too much time marveling over the lighting.

That's not really helpful, though, because if you're watching a video, you can't also watch a scroll on the ribbon board.

There were large groups of kids - I usually use the term “kids” when referring to anyone under 40 - but these were actual kids, probably high school. Not old enough for college. There were a couple thousand of them in the upper corners in the Dome. It must have been some organized effort to get them there.

Nearly all of the girls wore the same shorty shorts and tube tops or halter tops - I don’t know the lingo - showing way more than a girl should show unless she wants to be thought of in a certain way. They spent most of their time parading around from one spot to the next, I’m sure to be seen, or taking fish-lip selfies. And btw, they had to be cold, even as nice as the weather was, it wasn’t summer. I see the same clothing on the SU female students on campus. (Sidebar: I believe that everyone is responsible for their own behavior. Just because you dress like a skank doesn’t mean you’re asking for trouble. But it increase your odds considerably.)
I don’t want to hear about “Rape Culture” on campuses. Girls should have a little more modesty unless they want to be viewed as skanks. There I said it.

Huh, wasn't expecting the thread to go here... halter tops, skanks, and fish-lip selfies. Good times.

I wasn’t going to dive in too deep with this, but since you rolled the ball….
I saw multiple bikini tops, and on at least two occasions in the concourse saw exposed breast during “adjustments”. As a young man I’m sure I would have been at least entertained, as a father I’m disturbed at the public disregard for their own respect.
