I ain’t gonna lie. When it comes to the game, the Dome, the people, environment etc., I got next to nothing.

I don’t need to rehash the sound thing. But still an issue.

I found it comical, that the little video you watch where you have to pick the drone that Otto is in, was cut off right before they told you which one it was. The host even had someone in the stands making a call, and then it just disappeared to everyone’s disappointment. It was clearly because of bad timing as the next play was happening, but still.

I decided that I would still write you this week to share the one highlight of my GAMEDAY. It was not my normal GAMEDAY as we came later than normal from a family birthday party on otisco lake. So by the time we got out of the game we were ready for dinner. Since my wife and daughter were out of town for a volleyball tournament, the boy and I were on our own. We decided to hit varsity on the way down the hill.

Now we’ve been there many many times, but surprisingly, as a 53 year old who even went to games at Archbold, I’d never been AFTER a game.
Holy cow. When the band comes in, they really come in. I thought it was just the 8-10 I saw at first. But oh no, we got horns, woodwinds, color guard and percussion. What a riot. We watched 3-4 songs, the banner get flipped, and it was very cool. It was nice to see this tradition for the first time. I was little worried that the three full grown humans on our table alone would end up collapsing the whole thing down onto the top of my legs, but fortunately that didn’t happen.

If you’ve never seen it, you should at least once. It was fun. And for all the “we have no traditions anymore” that we hear, we’ve still got that one. And although it doesn’t happen in the Dome, it’s a valid one.
