The view from Section 117, part dieux

1. Student section remains sadly under-filled. And what was there at game time reduced to 1/2 at the start of the second half. Pathetic!

2. Upgraded to great seats this year but on the opposing team side after years on the "homey" side. Considerably less energy. One in ten get off their fat asses for 3rd plays. Meh!

3. Please keep the train whistle! First two scores it seemed they turned it down or didn't have it calibrated right. Beautiful noise after that!

4. Band and cheerleaders look/sound great! Well done!

5. Wasn't sure I'd like the new helmets, but they grew on me more and more as the game progressed. Kinda bad assed/hardnosed.

6. I will wait for my more learned colleagues to provide game analysis and breakdown, to which I will gladly interject with my less-than-analytical observations.

I've been in 117 since 1980 and the fans there have been glued to their seats for years. Mostly an older crowd.

Hopefully the people crying that SU should just give tickets away took notice - if people don't want what you're selling at any price, free doesn't entice them.
