The way too early: UConn Game Week

Still licking wounds from Tennessee, but am turning sites towards the Huskies. They will be sky high for this one, coming of their annihilation of a Directional Connecticut team. Playing in the Dome as underdogs against an established 'Cuse program will only enhance their resolve to make a statement.
So yeah, we must be ready. This will be no cupcake. I think we need to pressure their QB with something other than just the front 4. I also think we can make it a rock fight by just ball-controlling and pounding the rock with Willis. Hope the OL is up to it. Sprinkle in a few Johntay Cook touches in space and we could be on our way.
This is a game where we can get our sheet together (coalesce and execute our game phases) and prep for the rest of the season.

I would be worried about that if Clemson was next week, but with Colgate following, and Fran running things, I fully expect a beatdown.

Lying not-so-hidden within this game is a real possible look yourself in the mirror moment for the program. We should win this game by 14 points or more, no ifs ands or buts. After last week one would think the team will be coming out pissed and wanting to make a statement. We should be able to control both lines of scrimmage and the offense score serious points against an very new UCONN D. The roster we spent all summer talking about being such upgrades from prior years, needs to simply show they are superior to a roster the likes of UCONN. Pretty straightforward.

If we cannot come out and control this game, and end up in the proverbial rockfight, we would have played on par with what should be a UCONN roster full of players below the caliber we think we are., the type needed to compete with our brutal schedule. I think we would have to collectively take a good look in the mirror and ask really just how much more talented the players we have been getting truly are.
