I’ve always been a ‘Dino’s gonna leave’ guy but honestly, why would he at this point? He has a ton of equity built up with the fanbase, he and Wildhack seem to work well together, he has a ton of good young players and his QB for three years, he has the Dome, which were renovating. He could get a bigger job but why take USC or whatever and get fired when you win 8 games?

He will get paid here too.

It shows in our great rise in average attendance. We may end this year averaging closer to 37 or 38 k... thats essentially 5,000 butts increase. That does not just happen. Syracuse is starving for a winning football program.

He’s not gonna sign an extension now. He has an agent right? He’ll leverage whatever hot job there is to get more money that way (if he wants to stay).

Yeah I agree, there’s close to a zero percent chance he’ll sign an extension during the season. Even if he loves it here and wants to stay, he can use some other school as leverage to get more money from us for him and his staff after the season.

My point is that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side and he has everything he needs to succeed here. But you’re right, he may have the dream of doing this at a football factory.

Nobody knows what each individual is going to do or why. We can build a list of reasons he should stay but it doesn’t matter. I think SU will do what is fair to keep him. The rest is up to DB to decide.

Cmon. That gas example was...not good.

Teams extend coaches in the middle of contracts all the time when the coach’s stock goes up and the school wants to try to ensure the coach doesn’t go elsewhere for a better contract. It’s the way things work.

Hmm...maybe if you didn’t always bash whoever the coach is in any sport, that one would’ve went over better? Just a thought.
