I don't disagree with the premise. ESPN hypes the SEC like they are the conference PR firm.
Money quotes right here.

The first, a 24-point margin of victory for the Big 12's Oklahoma, was characterized on Twitter as "Oklahoma holds on to beat Tennessee 34-10."
