Completely agree. Force the coach to take one less endorsement deal, force the university to give up cash. In reality, that's the only way this ever actually gets fixed.

I hate NCAA as much as everyone else, but this wasn't their fault. Ron & BJ would never have played here. These decisions most likely would have come anyway.

That may be true but who's to say? The fact is that with this happening, they really didn't have much of a choice.

Completely disagree about BJ. His shot was finally coming around, in fact, he looked like the best shooter on the team. We need scoring more than anything else. He could have supplied that. I never, ever, ever put stock into some recruiting info that says this guy will be the next great shooter. They've all been lies. I trust my own eyes, and what I saw from BJ was the net getting turned inside out when he hit. Money. It was happening with increasing regularity and that would have continued next year.

Ron drove me nuts so I get it. Doesn't mean I like it.

In all honesty I think the biggest issue of all is the lack of transparency into penalties and the process. There should be a very clear and upfront handling regarding compliance. Have an NCAA audit once every 4 years and have an internal audit by every University every 2 years. Have the penalties be primarily monetary and only impact the students/coaches involved at the time. There should not be penalties for self reporting while other schools are in the clear for not reporting. While it won't curb all the foul activity it at least standardizes it and sets clear expectations and makes any penalties relevant to the time they occurred. Set a short statute of limitations as well for compliance violations.

Last time I checked we are allowed to play in postseason play next year. If these guys wanted to ride the train to the Postseason next season they could have.

No. Last week they were coming back. These kids were hurt by the NCAA ruling.

They were encouraged to leave. We have to get our numbers down. We want to leave a spot for Tb if he wants to come here which is no sure thing. And Most important, we have to be able to guarantee Battle that there is a spot for him.

What position would he have played and how many minutes? With McCullough, G, Roberson, and possibly Richardson next year, no way he plays more than 5-7 a game. That would give him one year to showcase his stuff, he fails early and Lydon is waiting in the wings. Bottom line is was an extremely smart decision by BJ AND Buss to move on from here.
