WAYNE HAWKINS (born June 17, 1938) 6-0 240 offensive guard
You’ve never heard of Wayne Hawkins. I only remember him because I’ve seen his football card. But there would be no professional football without players like him. It’s not all about the star players. Somebody’s got to play right guard for the Raiders. He did it for ten years in a row 1960-69, playing for teams that went 2-12 and 1-13 and 13-1 and 12-2. He was a 5 time AFL all-star and is on the all-time Raider team. He contributed to the book “Raider: How Offensive Can You Be? A 25-year History of the Oakland Raiders”. He went into the real estate investment business and probably has more money than you do. So he doesn’t care if you’ve never heard of him.
He has no highlight film available. Such is the life of a right guard.
