1. More Pierre, and a better overall run game.
2. Fewer ED runs.
3. More Nykeim in both the pass and return game.
4. Jamal Custis locating the ball a little sooner on down field routes.
5. A dump off pass to Chris Elmore where I get to watch him rumble over a couple of defensive backs.
6. Strong pressure from the defensive line.
7. A bounce back game from Scoop.
8. More QB #2 discussions which means ED got to wear a baseball cap toward the end of a one sided affair.

Think we might throw the ball 50-60 times this week.

Don't see us really killing it with the run game.

I don't think this weekend is going to be Pierre's coming out party. Shafer's D blitzed constantly against Vandy, you have to assume they're going to do the same. Strickland might be the most important player on the field. Calling out the blocks, and picking up the blitzes. It's a lot to ask a true freshman RB in his 2nd game, even if it's G5 talent level on the other side.

Vandy's RB picked them up consistently. And the QB ended up having a lot of easy throws over the middle as a result.

Yes. I think that Vandy showed us the blueprint for next weekend. Pass, pass, pass.

Spreading MTSU will negate the effectiveness of blitzing.

We have 3-4 WRs then they can only send 5 and if they send them screens kill the blitz.

Shafer's D works against teams that can't throw. If you blitz a QB who can throw it may stop them a few times but it will get burned a lot.

Besides winning I want to see:

1. Go fast
2. Expand the playbook
3. Get Elmore and Pierce involved more
4. Someone besides Riley returning kicks, I'm legitimately worried for him
5. Find someone that can run the ball not named Dungey
6. Scoop to have a bounce back game
7. D-Line keep up the nice work, sure the stat sheet isn't amazing. CCSU's QB got the ball out fast and we had some nice hits right after it and wow did Josh Black have himself a game and the King of the North with his first of many many sacks to come.
8. Devin C. Butler to remember that catching and holding the ball is step one
9. Stay healthy
10. Continue the process and keep getting better each week

Maybe see Alton Robinson get some reps at d-end... honestly I don't recall if if our new Juco saw any minutes. Did anyone see him in the game? I look forward to seeing what he can do.

Alton Robinson played not sure of how many reps but he did.

i didnt think scoop had a bad game, jumped to soon the td or its a pick

I thought it was him that blew the coverage or missed the tackle on the long pass that lead up to the TD, I might be wrong. Other then that whole series he was pretty good, just need him to be solid all game.

not 100 % sure who blew the coverage there, i think it was on the ccsu side of the field vs the td

Probably not a pick, but definitely a breakup. Foster was a little late getting over as well. But credit the QB, that was a really nice throw. It happens.

Scoop had the PI, and a bad play on a WR in the drive, so he stuck out to everyone. But can anyone remember any bad plays outside that drive? I can't.

I like all of your aspirations, however:
1. We need an inside running game, between the tackles and MP might be the guy with his flaming shirt.
2. Both lines are young and we NEED to show a,presence early dominating their OLINE, as they have 3 frosh on the Oline.
3. Our wrs need to get to it. Against CCSU, our wrs showed zero ability to separate. That needs to change.

Dungey can run which the Vandy QB isn't great at, and Dungey can hit receivers on the run. Scott's team will have a bad day chasing Eric, and the receivers.

I wish MTSU won this week. Their loss, at home will have them om high alert. Coaching wise, defensively with shaf, and offensively too:)

They would be on high alert if they won last week.
Shafer would make that possible.
Watching the Vandy game should calm people down who were worried about not being 3-0 going into LSU.
The MTSU defense isn't good at passing defense that plays into our offense's strength.

The only chance MTSU has is if it's offense scores a lot more points than they did against Vandy.
