Put the option away. I realize that Dungey is perfect for it but we simply cant afford to have him hurt. Other than a wide open Zone read or broken contain he shouldnt run the ball.

Make CMU throw intermediate routes that take time. Nothing dinky and nothing over the top. If forced into that 20 yard zone we should be able to get pressure on him.

Throw the ball on First down to set up the run. Not the other way. CMU is going to force us to beat them through the air so go ahead and take it.

More Fredericks and more Strickland.

Hope to see the two big WR get some run.

Dominate on Specials.

NO turn overs

I don't see the option going away, it's part of the offense. Kids get hurt anywhere and anytime, play to win not to not get hurt.

He is channeling his inner P- very very multiple. If you want to play not to get hurt do it next weekend because we ain't winning that game in 1,000 years

I like the option, and I think we've run it pretty well so far. QB's get hurt far more often when they aren't expecting the hit (ie, QB sack) than running with the ball. At least when they run with it, they can try to avoid getting hit.

The problem with the option isnt the keeper it is the pitch. The QB is always taken out and is really vunerable as a result of the pitch motion

the 84' and 91' teams called...they want you to retract that statement.

Well I will say that the kid can take a blind side hit and pop back up (albeit without the ball).

Not the same game. Talent disparity is too much to overcome. LSU linebackers are faster than our running backs and receivers. Different world down there.

Not so sure about that. Maybe in Marrone's tenure they were faster but not any more.

Dungey is going to run. Hopefully out of bounds or ends in a slide.

I agree with all other points. Wondering what we will see at running back this week, more starting with Morris and ending with ... ?

As strange as it sounds, he slides great.

That must be why LSU is predicted by some to get beat by Auburn this week. An Auburn team that struggled against Jacksonville State. I am not saying we will win but anything is possible this year. The usual top teams don' t seem to be as dominating this year. It is early in the season so we will see.

Are their linebackers really faster than our running backs and receivers? That is some crazy speed for guys that size.

I am really hoping that LSU beats Auburn. I would much prefer to beat an undefeated LSU team versus a 1 loss LSU Team.

If Auburn does win I am glad that we aren't playing Jacksonville State...we would get smoked...I heard their lineman are as fast as our running backs and receivers. ;)

Regarding the OP, the game plan will probably be a little more passing than last week and keeping CMU honest against the run. We will wear down their D and win the game. A few long plays and the game could be heavily in favor of Syracuse. Defensively, make them earn the yards on short plays. They most likely cannot run against Syracuse so extra pressure from teh D line would be greatly appreciated.

I agree with the poster above that stated play to win. More injuries seem to happen when players are "being careful". Games are lost, too.

I don't agree. Upsets happen all the time. Little guys beat big guys. Just hasn't happened around these parts recently.
Our defensive pass rush is gong to give every team on our schedule problems.

I agree with limiting Dungey's use of the option. I happen to love the option offense, but I put more value in protecting a solid asset and using his other strengths and using our other weapons. Not much available in the way of backups that could lead SU to six wins. Maybe I am becoming too conservative in my old age?

1. Early and heavy pressure on their QB.

2. Rotate all our running backs until we find the ones that get it done.

3. Keep our kicking game in the groove they've established in the first two games.

4. For Chrissake, please protect Dungey!

5. Couple of other things...

Do want:

+2 in turnovers

More touchdowns than field goals from our red zone trips

Ron Thompson live in their back field

Steven Clark light someone up on a screen
